Our project began in 2012 after visiting a school in Brufut Nema run by Bernadette, a volunteer teacher working without electricity, water, or basic resources. What started as bringing supplies and helping with rent quickly grew into a long‑term commitment to give local children a safe, stable place to learn.

With incredible support from our community, we raised £25,000 to buy land and begin building a permanent school, but funds ran out before construction could be completed. After returning recently, we expanded our mission to include a modest home for Bernadette, her husband James, and their four children, who currently share a single room with many relatives.

To finish the school, build the family home, and install essentials like a borehole for clean water, we’re seeking renewed support. Our goal is to help give the children of Brufut Nema the opportunities they deserve while supporting the family who has dedicated years to teaching them for free.
